"Your network is your net worth" is probably one of the most important mantra to live by.

This means understanding that you live as part of a bigger community. That you, as an individual, need that network to be prosper, whatever definition you lend to that word.

It is the understanding that on your own, you can't be as "effective", even though the goal is not about being efficiency all the time.

Here, efficiency merely refers to your ability to navigate the world in a somewhat better and more productive way.

One should strive to maintain their bonds with their family, friends, close relatives, and acquaintances.

As of now, I can't think of any negative outcome doing so. I am not saying there is none, but I can't think of one.

If you find yourself in any community, your goal at anything time should be: to give. To give of your time, your resources, your help, essentially contributing in any productive way, that moves the community forward.

In doing so you are doing yourself service the community.

So be of service.
