How do You Know ?

If someone is genuinely directing you toward the right direction. If their goal is not selfishness—to direct you where they want you to be in order to serve their own purpose.
Sometimes, regardless of what you yourself think is best for you, there could be convergence. But really, how do you know?
Well, you don't need to know their motives.
The only thing that matters is yours. Why do you want to do what you want to do?
You become crystal clear on your why. It should be greater than theirs.
If there is convergence, so much the better. If not, you will sleep well knowing that you made the choice that mattered for you, which by the way is not selfishness but self-service.
If you hate your yourself, and in doing so, others, for the actions you willingly took, without much thought, then not only you are to blame, but you also become a danger to people.
That is certainly a bad strategy.
